So what is an alpaca? An alpaca is a member of the camelid
family. They are a cousin to camels, llamas, guanacos and
vicuna. Alpacas are native to South America and were first
introduced to the United States in 1983.They have always
been raised for their fleece.
Welcome to Rainbow’s End Alpacas and Rainbow Gifts & Yarn! We are nestled in the beautiful countryside of the U.P. of Michigan. Soft rolling hills, beautiful lakes and streams are all around us. Four seasons of colors grace our land year round. It is commonly known as “God’s Country.”
Rainbow’s End Alpacas began one summer day at the county fair when I first fell in love with the gentle creatures with the big, beautiful brown eyes and gave birth to the dream of one day owning such an animal. Our home is nestled on four acres and we always wanted something in the back field, but what? It was the spring of 2005 when my husband joined my passion and the dream came true. We made the decision to start our own alpaca farm, not just for the love of the animal but as an investment in our future. By the middle of that summer we had purchased our first three girls. Now, here we are eight years later with 25 animals housed on the farm!
Rainbow Gifts & Yarn was established in 2008. We were originally housed in a refurbished tool shed of 195 square feet. The growth and interest of our wonderful alpaca products prompted the construction of our new facility of over 1700 square feet. Our store hours are Monday-Saturday 10-4, and closed Sunday. Our address is W6139 US 2, Norway, MI 49870. Our phone number is 906-563-7034. And our e-mail address is email@example.com.
